Benefits of Sound Therapy

Binaural Beats and Solfeggio Frequencies are two popular forms of sound therapy that can help improve sleep, reduce stress, and much more!

What are binaural beats and how can they help you?

Binaural beats are a specific type of auditory illusion that occurs when two slightly different frequencies are presented to each ear separately. The brain perceives a third tone that is the difference between the two frequencies. For example, if a tone of 400 Hz is played in one ear and a tone of 410 Hz is played in the other ear, the brain perceives a binaural beat of 10 Hz. Binaural beats are often used as a tool for brainwave entrainment, as they can influence brainwave patterns and induce specific states of consciousness, such as relaxation, focus, or meditation.

Let’s take a look at how different frequencies work!

Delta Waves (0.5-4 Hz): These slow brainwaves are associated with deep sleep and relaxation. When exposed to delta frequencies, the brain tends to slow down its activity, promoting relaxation and facilitating sleep induction.

Theta Waves (4-8 Hz): Theta waves are associated with deep relaxation, meditation, and creativity. Exposure to theta frequencies can induce a state of deep relaxation and may enhance creativity and intuition.

Alpha Waves (8-14 Hz): Alpha waves are associated with a relaxed, yet alert state of mind. Exposure to alpha frequencies can promote relaxation while maintaining a level of alertness and mental clarity, making it easier to focus and concentrate.

Beta Waves (14-30 Hz): Beta waves are associated with active, alert, and focused states of consciousness. Exposure to beta frequencies can enhance alertness, cognitive function, and productivity. However, prolonged exposure to high beta frequencies may also induce feelings of stress or agitation in some individuals.

What are solfeggio frequencies and how can they help you?

Solfeggio frequencies are slightly different than binaurel beats. Binaural beats are an auditory illusion created by playing different tones in different frequencies in each ear, while solfeggio frequencies are a set of nine tones that many believe have spiritually enhancing properties.

There are nine different solfeggio frequencies, let’s take a look at each one!

174 Hz: This frequency is used to help relieve pain and ease physical tension in the body.

285 Hz: This frequency can help restore tissue, strengthens the immune system, and balances the root chakra.

396 Hz: This frequency is said to help release fear, guilt, doubt, and negative thoughts.

417 Hz: 417 Hz is believed to clear negative energy from your environment, release shame and anger, and balance the sacral chakra. This is also a great frequency to use for sleep!

432 Hz: 432 Hz is also known as the “Heartbeat of the Earth” because of its alignment with the Schumann Resonance, the frequency of the Earth’s magnetic field.

528 Hz: Studies found that listening to this frequency reduced cortisol, the stress hormone, and alleviated feelings of stress and anxiety in participants. Fun Fact,  528 Hz is also called the “love frequency” or “miracle frequency”

629 Hz: Some believe that this frequency restores harmony in relationships and helps with expressing emotions. It’s also associated with the heart chakra.

741 Hz: 741 Hz is believed to remove emotional blockages, balance the throat chakra, and remove toxicity from your environment.

852 Hz: The highest solfeggio frequency is said to help with accessing deeper states of consciousness and awakening intuition.
